EcoTech Systems (Ecots)

EcoTechSystems is specialized on the design, management and execution of monitoring and characterization plans of marine, transition and land waters, with special attention to the aspects dealing with marine pollution and fate of pollutants. EcoTechSystems has a great experience on the environmental characterization and monitoring of marine coastal and offshore areas. Among the main field of expertise are quali-quantitative studies of marine phyto- and zooplankton, and of meio- and macrozoobenthos. Another focus area of work are marine microbiology, including determinations of bacterial biodiversity through molecular analyses and ecotoxicology tests.
Main tasks in the project

  • Perform mesocosm experiments to test the eco-compatibility of innovative products (WP7)
  • Analysis of abundance and biodiversity of meio- and macrofauna during in the oil-spill monitoring (WP7)
  • Ecotoxicological and bioaccumulation analyses to test the eco-compatibility of innovative products (WP7)
