Maritim Miljø-Beredskap (MMB)

MMB is the leading independent oil spill response company in Norway. The company was formed in 1999 to provide oil spill response, training and equipment rental into a market that had historically been provided by the government but was increasingly being opened to the private sector. The company is based outside Bergen on Norway’s west coast in order to serve the North Sea oil market and the principle oil storage depots and refineries.

Mr. Charles Martinussen - Operations and Project Manager at MMB. Trained navigator (Master Mariner), background from Norwegian merchant fleet, IMO, NOFO and NCA Oil Spill Response (OSR) course instructor. Worked with OSR-equipment development focusing on maximizing recovery rate. Experience from several oil spills in Norway and internationally (e.g. Prestige spill). Has worked for MMB since 2000, and directly with oil spill response and preparedness for 20 years.

Mr. Odd G Jørgensen - senior adviser at MMB, background from Norwegian Coast Guard and submarines. Master mariner, sailed as a mate and rescue diver at the Norwegian Sea Rescue. IMO, NOFO and NCA Oil Spill Response (OSR) course instructor. Worked with business development as well as oil spill response operations. Experience from several oil spills in Norway and also worked for BP as advisor during the spill in Gulf of Mexico in 2010. .

Experience from ROV and subsea operations. Worked with developing and establishing “Best Practice – operational guidelines” as well as operational experience from oil spill response operations. Extensive experience from sea going operations.
