MicrosTECH AG generates know-how and innovations in the fields of microbiology, molecular biology, preservation and disinfection. Chemistry, microbiology and molecular biology are ideally networked together, with the respective technologies, equipment and installations all under one roof.
The founders of microsTECH have a large expertise in the development and application of functionalised minerals such as mineral sorbents and minerals used for pharmaceutical formulations.
Main tasks in the project

  • Development of novel mineral-based sorbent materials (WP3)
  • Development of integrated approaches such as the combination of mineral-based sorbent and oil degrading bacteria (WP6)
  • provision of these products for field testing (WP8)

Nicola Di Maiuta is member of the executive board of microsTECH AG. Nicola received his PhD from the University of Warwick, UK in Environmental Molecular Microbiology where he also is guest lecturer. Nicola is involved in the implementation and rollout of new technologies in molecular biology, microbiological analytics, biocide preservation and nanotechnology as well as in the know-how transfer and development of new business areas. As the co-organiser of the Swiss International Conference on Industrial Microbiology (MICROSCON), Nicola’s vision is to promote applied and industrial microbiology as interdisciplinary sciences with the goal of satisfy today’s new applications and first-class products demands.

Patrick Schwarzentruber is member of the executive board of microsTECH AG. Patrick received his PhD from the University of Warwick, UK in Environmental Microbiology where he also is guest lecturer. Patrick is involved in the marketing and rollout of new technologies in molecular biology, microbiological analytics, biocide preservation and nanotechnology as well as in the know-how transfer and development of new business areas. As the co-organiser of the Swiss International Conference on Industrial Microbiology (MICROSCON), Patricks’ vision is to bring together professionals at all levels of industry in order to promote current and future trends in the science of microbiology.
