The Chemical Engineering unit will be involved based on its long-term expertise on transport, degradation and fate of contaminants in a range of environmental conditions as well as on biological and physical-chemical processes for their abatement.

Associate Professor at the Department of Chemistry of the University of Rome “La Sapienza”. He currently holds courses in “Processes and Industrial Chemical Plants” and “Dynamics of Pollutants and Remediation of Contaminated Sites” and he is the Scientific Director of the II Level Master in “Characterization and Technologies for the Remediation of Contaminated Sites”. His main research interest is in fate and transport of organic and inorganic pollutants in soils and groundwater and development of in situ technologies for the remediation of sites contaminated by persistent pollutants.

Ludovica graduated in Industrial Chemistry with honors in 2013 at “Sapienza” University of Rome. She is currently a PhD student at the same University. Her research activity is mainly focused on the development and the characterization of capping materials for oil spill contaminants adsorption/immobilization in sea sediment.’
